I'm going to be on the road for a couple of weeks. 

My Uncle Harry, in Odessa TX, died this morning, He was in his 80's,
the union steward in the jet-mechanics shop at the Air Force base in
Big Spring before they shut it down. Smart as hell, even if he was
the family's only Democrat. :-). 


I'm going to the funeral in Odessa by way of Albuquerque, NM, where
Mom and my brother's family live, and I expect we'll all go together
from there, or something. The flight out leaves tomorrow morning at
8:10AM EST. 

I'm also going to see Carol in Walnut Creek for most of the last week
of that time, before I leave from ABQ again (Hotwire is your friend
:-)) to Boston on the 19th. She's taking care of her father, who has
terminal leukemia. 

When it rains, it pours, I guess. Like Betty Davis said once, "Old
age ain't for sissies." It sure beats the alternative, though. :-/.


I'll be dialing in, for the most part, but I expect to be out of
pocket at times, certainly while I'm travelling between stops. The
phone should still work, though. 617-327-1336, if anyone needs to get
